If You Truly Believe

{WARNING: There is one quote shared in this blog which some will likely find offensive. I tried to be tactful.}

Everybody believes in something. Even those who believe in nothing believe in something! Now think about that statement a while.

So many people, so many beliefs. One strong belief is the teaching that Jesus is coming again. He came the first time as a Savior. He is now coming the second time as Judge. I often see inmates with the tattoo expressing

Only God Can Judge Me.

It seems to be an attempt to let people know not to judge them, but to leave that to God. I wonder if the judgment of God really concerns them.

If you truly believe Jesus is coming back, doesn’t that also mean you must take risks. Working on the premise that Jesus the Savior, Redeemer, Lord, and Judge is returning to take His born again brothers and sisters in Christ back home to Heaven, shouldn’t we be actively involved in getting people ready. After all, we do not have a specific day, time and hour. We have a date, howbeit, an eternal date.

If you truly believe then do you take the risk of offending even though not to be mean but so others can be more prepared. You should never want to offend but it is better to have mankind angry with you than the Son of Man.

A recent post on a friends social media site stated having sex outside of marriage was sin. However, if the sex act impregnated the woman then their was no sin. Their thesis is God doesn’t make mistakes and no child is an accident. Therefore, it is not a sin to have a child outside of marriage. You can do great harm to a child if you keep saying the child was an ‘accident’ or a ‘mistake.’ No child should be told that.

God has a “permissive will” and a “perfect will.” It is not God’s perfect will for a child to be conceived outside of marriage. Therefore it is a sinful act. God had allowed (permitted) you and I to chose to be in His perfect will or to step outside His will to carry out our own will. God permits us to sin willfully but rather we willfully live in His perfect will.

Young mom and dad had their two kids in tow at the pet store yesterday evening. The little boy about two years old was walking along side his parents with a T-shirt on with the following message:

Last night is still a blur. All I remember is sucking ti&@ies and sh&@ing myself.

If you truly believe Jesus is coming again, then should you sit by and watch the gospel being downgraded to a theological exercise in practical living?

If you truly believe then do you witness the love of Jesus when it is not popular?

Do you risk offending by pointing out sin to your church family? Are you ready to risk being called a judge when you are inspecting fruit?

Can you risk being labeled “a negative person” because you point out what’s not right or righteous? If you truly believe do you accept being the “critical” person?

If you truly believe do you….

Until next time
