The Veil of Smiles

Sorrow comes and goes. It’s visitation all too frequent for most. To cope some indulge in over-eating, drinking intoxicating beverages, a draw or so on some green leafy substance, while others snort white powder, love-making and much more to include embracing a combination of coping mechanisms.

The ailment commonly called depression is no respecter of persons. The affluent or impoverished, the caucasian or person of color, the believer or the infidel are all affected.

The smile hides heartache and pain. Silence prevents discussion and the fear of more sorrow. The sadness of things said, of life’s hammering events that drive the nails into your soul to cause it’s deepest hurt.

So when someone wishes you happiness, it may mean more than a common expression to actually be a hearts desire for you.

The smile is a mask. It is just another tool from the box of coping mechanisms. He/she seem so happy. Always joking and cutting up. Wonder what’s behind that mask?

I don’t live alone but if I did; I wouldn’t.

Until Next time,

Hoss

P.S. I wish YOU much happiness
