Lonely In A Crowded Elevator

Have you ever been there? Actually in an elevator with a crowd of people and felt so all alone? Many will think of depression as the cause for that ‘feeling of loneliness.’

I wonder if it isn’t depression that causes loneliness but something else all together. Could it be that there is no happiness in a person’s life and they begin the slow pace downward into an emotional sadness.

Are you happy? What makes you happy? Is it temporary?

Happiness comes and goes, but joy remains.

So much of what makes a person happy is temporal things. Events like watching little newborns as they experience life or you taking in a show. I think the reason a lot of people are not happy is because it is based on so many temporal events. Another reason is some people make up their minds they are not going to be happy. For the strangest reason they just want to be miserable all the time.

How bout people being unhappy because of their job. The vast majority fall into this darkness.

I suppose if we as adults want to experience real happiness then we have got to change our focus. We have to move it away from family members who make us sad, jobs that irate us, bosses who resemble the behavior of donkeys more than humans, and the consuming power of gaining money.

The only focus I can imagine which cause us to have a more constant happiness and more joy is to focus on Jesus. His Life, His Love, and His Liberty are offered to us. Great joy is ours when we find our connection to Jesus.

His Life = Our example for Living
His Love = Our entrance into etenity
His Liberty = Our escape from bondage

Loneliness in a crowded elevator results from looking inward. Focusing on self without the impact of The Lord Jesus Christ {Anointed One} is depressing but joy will come when Jesus is Lord!

So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading. And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. (Nehemiah 8:8-10 KJV)

Are You Happy?

Until Next Time
