The Curse of Compromise

The Curse of Compromise
1 Samuel 15:1-9

Introduction

Like the old program hosted by Leonard Nimoy, In Search Of, I too have been searching. Searching for the power of God. The Scriptures speak of God’s power to heal [Mark 1], power to forgive [Matthew 9:6], power to resurrect [John 10:18; 11:25], and power to save [John 1:12].

We live in a time where we only see a glimpse of God’s power. Occasionally someone walks the aisle. Great power is seen in their salvation. A new birth has begun.

Seldom do we see the power of God displayed in our churches as God would desire. Why? It is the Curse of Compromise.

Compromise in the Salvation.
A. “Borderline Christianity’
Lifestyle of a Christian w/ Christians.
Lifestyle of the world while w/ the world.

B. Burger King Christianity
‘Have it your way!’
Never mind what the bible saids, about forgiveness, repentance, christian living and such.
People think they need religion when in fact they need a relationship with Jesus. What do you have? A religion or a relationship?
Salvation is not fire insurance but a life united in Christ! Should a christian be content with going to heaven? If the Christian truly understands what God did & does for him in salvation, he will want to serve Him!

II. Compromise in Separation
A. It is a saved but don’t go too far attitude. [see Peter in Luke 22:54-58]

B. It is a lukewarmness. [Rev. 3:15-16]
On your part it may good to be lukewarm {carnal} – [saved but not victorious], but it nauseates God. [see 2 Cor. 6:14-17]

III. Compromise in Soul-winning
A. Moses and Aaron told to go and serve The Lord. [Exodus 10:8]

B. Saints of God are told to go and serve The Lord. [Matt. 28:18-20]

Friends, we need old fashioned preaching, christian living that bring the truth that our greatest need is
Blood bought
Born Again,
Bible-believing
Baptized people
whose souls are
Sold out
Set Afire
Sincere Relationship
with Almighty God.

We will not have that relationship with God until we practice repentance. You cannot continue in sin and think all will be well. God is not mocked. Whatever you sow, you will reap. Numbers 32:33, ‘your sins will find you out.’

Our nation is blanketed with people who are proud of their sins. No shame, no guilt, but boastful.

Lets make it right with God today.

Until next time
