Five Principles on How To Hear From God

Truth be told the majority of ‘Chrisitans’ cannot recognized if it is God speaking. When you talk to someone often then it isn’t a challenge to recognize who you are talking to even over the phone.

I really want to hear from God. Don’t you? Try these principles…

1. Be willing to submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
James 4:7a ‘Submit yourselves therefore to God.’
Phil. 2:9-11 Wherefore God has highly exalted him and given him a name above every name. At the name of Jesus every knee should bow… every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

2. Be willing to be made clean by Power of Holy Spirit.
If I regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear; (Psalms 66:18 NASB)

Behold, the Lord ‘ s hand is not so short That it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. (Isaiah 59:1, 2 NASB)

3. Be willing to do the Will of God before knowing what His Will is.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5, 6 NASB)

4. Be willing to resist the devil.
Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7 NASB)

5. Be willing to patiently and faithfully wait to cultivate a hearing heart.
And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6 NASB)

Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. (Isaiah 40:31 NASB)

It is so important to know it is God speaking to you and not the devil in disguise or your own ambitions. We can let ourselves in the way of hearing from God.

Until next time,
