More Tears

Ask any person who went to church and took part in memorizing scripture what the shortest verse is in the Bible and they’ll tell ya it is John 11:35 “Jesus Wept.”

The prominent reason given for God to cry was ‘the lack of faith shown from Mary.’ Some theologians suggest it was grief, etc… You can do your study and may come to a different conclusion.

It is my conviction this is not the only time God shed tears. In fact I am of the conviction He still does. I believe tears flow when a group of lesbian celebrities pose as participants substituting the original members of the Lord’s Supper mocking a holy sacrament. The recent mass murder of kids and adult in Connecticut certainly brought tears. Don’t you think so?

So the horrific depravity and senseless acts from those very people fashioned by the hand of God are responsible for breaking God’s heart.

Certainly there must be tears of great joy which trickle down God’s face. Tears when the double amputee succeeds in walking again. It likely happens any time great achievements are accomplished.

Then there is the Biblical record documenting tears of joy. I

tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. (Luke 15:7 NASB)

Where do you and I stand? We can cause tears of sorrow or joy to flow down the cheeks of our Holy God.

Until next time,
