This edition of Hoss’ Blog is about being late and consequences. Different situations result in different outcomes. For instance:
When I was a student at a junior college and the teacher was as much as 10 minutes late, then the class was cancelled without counting against you. One one occasion two students were at the door watching for the teacher to come and it was almost at the ten minute mark when she appeared around the corner. Boy was she ever mad! She came in ramping and raving about watching for her. After her torrent she walks out of the room and a moment later re-enters as if nothing ever happened.
Did you know that some doctors will not honor your appointment with them if you are a few minutes late? Yeah, we all know that two cancellations of a doctors appointment can give the doctor cause not to even see you again.
How bout this. I know you’ve thought of this yourself but have you realized your appointment with the doctor is also the doctors appointment with You? So if the doctor is late seeing you then shouldn’t there be penalties or repercussions for him/her? Maybe a discount could be conferred on your bill.
Late for work and get written up. Late for school and get tardy slips. Yet let someone be late making you wait and nothing happens.
The doctors time is important. The teachers time is important. Your time is important. Then by golly My Time Is Important.
Gotta run, got an appointment.
