God is tolerant

Tolerance  [tol-er-uhns] is defined as

1. a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward those whose opinions, practices, race, religion, nationality, etc., differ from one’s own; freedom from bigotry.

2. a fair, objective, and permissive attitude toward opinions and practices that differ from one’s own.

3. interest in and concern for ideas, opinions, practices, etc., foreign to one’s own; a liberal, undogmatic viewpoint.

4. the act or capacity of enduring; endurance: My tolerance of noise is limited.

When you study this definition you will find Almighty God is tolerant, that is He is permissive to people having varying opinions, practices etc. He “allows” everyone to have their opinion and beliefs and practices.

Therefore it stands to reason that Christians should also be tolerant. We should allow others to have their opinions, practices and beliefs.

In as much as Christians should be tolerant to others so should others be tolerant to Christians. How many times has the Christian been a group setting where his views were shot down before a case could be made? A chorus of “tolerant” people would harmonize the bigotry of Christians.

Never mind allowing a mature discussion of equal opinions. If there is going to be a Call for Tolerance” then let’s all be tolerant.

Just so we are clear on the matter, receive the truth…
God is tolerant
God is absolute truth
God is against all sinful practices, opinions, and beliefs.

Until next time,

BE TOLERANT but, as a Christian, don’t expect to be TOLERATED!
