When are we going to have a Revival?

When are we going to have a Revival?

1 Samuel 7:1-13
Not interested in a series of meetings.
I’m interested in a Real Revival where the POWER & GLORY of God are experienced by everyone!

1 Samuel 1:11-20 God blesses Hannah
1 Samuel 2:12, 22-25 Wicked sons of Eli
1 Samuel 3 Samuel becomes a minister of the Lord

We are going to have a revival –

1 Samuel 4:4 So the people sent to Shiloh, and from there they carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts who sits above the cherubim; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

Biblical illustration – Ark of the covenant. Israel smitten, ark presented, ark taken, Hophni & Phinehas killed, ark captured, and Philistines cursed, Eli falls backward & dies of broken neck, Phinehas’ wife gives birth, names him Ichabod = The Glory of the Lord has departed.
THIS IS A STORY OF WHAT HAPPENS WHEN GOD IS LEFT OUT.

II. When we re-instate & restore what belongs to God and God’s people.
1 Samuel 7:3-7

A. The Lord’s Day
B. The Lord’s Tithe
C. The Lord’s Talent
D. The Lord’s Relationship with you.
GOD IS BEING LEFT OUT!!
In the Old Testament they rejected the Father
In the New Testament they reject the Son
In the Church Age they reject the Holy Spirit

III. When we confess our sins
1 Samuel 4:6 When the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, “What does the noise of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews mean?” Then they understood that the ark of the Lord had come into the camp.

We have sinned!
We are Not just Sorry.
A. We will not confess our sins until we see our sin as God sees them.
B. We will not confess our sins until we see the results of our sins.

Proverbs 28:13 He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper,
But he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.

IV. When we engage in mighty intercessory prayer.
1 Samuel 7:9 Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it for a whole burnt offering to the Lord; and Samuel cried to the Lord for Israel and the Lord answered him.

The biblical illustration:
A. Hannah cries to God for a son.
B. Samuel cries to God for Israel.
C. Jesus cries out to God for all people.
D. Are you ready to cry out to God?

There will be no revival apart from Prayer.
Do you really want revival?
Do you really want to see the power of God?

Francis Shaffeur “If prayer & the Holy Spirit left the church, it would take a long time for them to be missed.”
