Halifax is the Beast!
We embarked on a coach ride to Peggy’s Cove (google it) early this morning. Ellen our guide and Doug, our driver did a great job. Ellen was full of interesting facts ranging from the Titanic to why Nova Scotia loves America. I must say it was nice to hear numerous plusses about the United States when we predominantly hear negatives. I think the woman was sincere.
We walked to the lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove, went by “kissing rock” and heard a lot of interesting and humorous stories.
Christy and I got back to the ship just after noon. Immediately our attention was drawn to walk a short distance to the Public Garden. Rows and rows of beautiful flowers of all varieties. The place is absolutely gorgeous. You ever come here you need to find two things. First is the Public Garden. That will be easy. The second may be a bit more difficult. Find Ellen Mcintosh, the tour guide with ambassador tours. Her knowledge will intrigue you.
We have less than an hour before we leave here and head for New York. While we keep one eye on the sights and sounds of our cruise, the other is on Hurricane Irene. We are thinking we will be docking at about 8 am Saturday morning. Irene will be arriving then too.
So my thoughts are leaning toward an adventurous plane trip. Heaven help.
